I spent sometime in Olympic National Park last spring while travelling through the Pacific Northwest and was lucky enough to catch a few days with some beautiful light. Between the amazing coast and the rain forest this place is photographer’s paradise. Since I had lost my camera on a wave accident the day before I shot this, I had to borrow a camera to capture this amazing light. Thanks Alex Noriega for letting me use his camera to capture it. Luckily there was enough light for everyone! via 500px http://bit.ly/1EZVmKa

Mirroring the Grandeur by TrevorAnderson
This is another perspective of Rainier that I caught a couple years back. My recent trips have been more hiking oriented than photo oriented, partly due to the hazy skies presented by all of the wildfires; this has provided a good opportunity to go through some older folders. via 500px http://bit.ly/1UtAWuK

++check it out in full screen++ Check me out on Facebook! Check out my new Website! Here's one more image from my trip to Falls Creek Falls, WA this past spring. All of the conditions you see in this one were completely in camera. My previous image was shot on the same day but the light was changing by the minute with passing rain clouds in the area. Max Foster and I got very lucky because by the end of shooting there wasn't a cloud in the sky, which would have made LE exposures pretty difficult since I don't typically use ND filters. The amount of water coming over the falls was pretty intense and I had my camera only about a foot or so from the water while shooting this one so staying dry was no easy feet. Hope you enjoy this one! Falls Creek Falls, WA Prints: cwexplorationphotography@gmail.com via 500px http://bit.ly/1IMw90I

For Jeff by cwexplorationphotography
++check it out on black++ I never got to meet Jeff Swanson but hearing about his story and the lives he touched inspired me to post something in his memory. Plus cancer sucks. Plain and simple. I've lost many loved ones to it, so any way that I can support the cause to finding a cure is a huge plus in my book. Please check out Jeff's memorial page and the Melanoma Research Foundation website in the links below: http://bit.ly/1Esn55O http://bit.ly/1hqNtlP This image comes from a very foggy sunrise up near Mt. St. Helen's Washington. Sometimes you just need to be there, soak it all in and take a deep breath. Mt. St. Helen's, WA Check me out on Facebook! For Jeff by Dustin_Wong_Photography
Last year a photographer Jeff Swanson who was actively involved in the landscape community lost his battle with Melanoma. He was an inspiration to many and regarded as a great friend. If you or somebody close has been affected by this disease please click the link to contribute to the Melanoma Research Foundation to find a cure. The shot: I’ve wanted to see this milky way alignment over Mount Rainier, Washington ever since my friend Dave Morrow captured it. Since then, this view has become highly coveted, and on this night there were probably 50+ photographers on site to witness the event. Here is my take on the area. **If you like the recent images, hit that follow button!** Instagram I Facebook via 500px http://bit.ly/1KYMEZg

Tahoma Twilight by JeremyDuncan
Please view this one on black. Lots of shadow detail to be seen. Mount Rainier from the Sunrise area on a very windy night. Three images used: One for the land, one for the stars and another for the moon which were both shot at later times in order to capture the scene I envisioned. via 500px http://bit.ly/1DaYQss

Unfurled by BryanSwan
Finally found some really interesting False Hellebore while doing some scouting in Mount Rainier National Park last week. Scout location #1 turned out to be pretty good, but I fell over a log, got a baseball-sized bruise on the back of my calf which gave me a limp for 3 days, scraped my arm all to hell, and then the light sucked on top of that. Location #2 was a no go because the brush was too thick, and I couldn't manage to drag myself to intended location #3 because of said injury aquired at location #1. And even though the sunset wasn't bad (for once), I couldn't come away with anything at all I liked at Reflection Lakes...so this ended up being my keeper shot for the day. via 500px http://bit.ly/1CB6jR1

Palouse Light Show by RHMiller
The Palouse is one of my favorite places... it is just so unique. On this trip, I was treated to a light show as a storm rolls in. This lightning strike was so bright that it left me blinking for several minutes. Palouse from Steptoe Butte, Washington. via 500px http://bit.ly/1L47Oae
