Låtefossen is a gorgeous unique looking double waterfall in Norway. It's such an interesting spot to visit that I had to shoot it. All in all Norway has made a long term impression on me with its undeniable beauty. This shot is made of two shots to get detail in the shadows and in highlights. I keep redefining my landscape photography vision simply because I constantly develop in the field and switch sources of inspiration. My way of landscape photography execution doesn’t involve going to places and shooting the first appealing composition. Instead I like to take risks and come up with new approaches. Before I start shooting, firstly I need to feel the place. And I mean in it in a holistic approach. Each of my photos is a combination of composition, technical skills and deeper connection with the photographed location. One doesn’t exist without the other. I would never go to the place just to take couple photos, but I frequently go to places and explore them even if I don’t shoot. This photo features Brandywine Falls in BC, near Whistler. Every time when I look at this waterfall I reassure myself that it looks more interesting from its very edge than from the bottom. It was a thrilling and adrenaline boosting experience to shoot there again. By the way, it is 70 metres of that plunge. via 500px http://bit.ly/1hW2XyF

"Wahe Flow" – Wahe Falls on Moffett Creek, Columbia River Gorge, OR “Like” my photography page on Facebook:TheWorldExplored Purchase a print:Print Shop On my first full day in the Gorge area, I planned on hitting as many waterfalls as possible. I started with the easiest hikes in order to avoid the crowds, and was on trail at 5AM. By 3PM I had hiked to 7 different falls and was in need of a nap. Considering I only had a couple days in Oregon though, I decided to scratch the nap and head to Wahe. The hike itself is really a lot of fun if you have energy. In hindsight I should have started the day with this rather than ended with it. Getting to Wahe entails hiking gorge trail #400 and then hiking in the water of Moffett creek until you get to the falls. The nicest part of this hike is that I didn’t see another person the entire time, which is quite a contrast to some of the gorge hot spots. Round trip from the Elowah parking lot was about 4 hours and I was beat when I got back. Anyway, it was a jam packed day that was totally worth it! Watching the water is mesmerizing, almost to the point of being dizzying. The last "keeper" shot from a recent trip to Zion National Park. Just a bit earlier in the evening I was fortunate to capture some good clouds that worked well from a landscape perspective. Those were then replaced by this set of clouds that worked perfectly for going vertical into a portrait orientation. It was nice to have cooperative clouds to pull both perspectives in one evening.
