Marlboro Point by DustinLeFevre1
I have returned to this view many times hoping to find catch a sky to compliment the canyon. This time I returned with fellow photographer Chad Dutson who had never made the trip down this 4 wheel drive road. The sky looked like it has potential but a few minutes after sunset we were blown away with the way the color exploded. I abandoned what I thought was a good composition earlier and frantically ran around until I found this view. For this exposure I opted to stack a CPL with a 5 stop ND for a longer exposure of roughly 3 minutes. Chad Dutson has a gallery showing at Dead Horse Point State Park through October. For anyone that is in the Moab area it is worth checking out. Follow me on Instagram @dustinlefevre via 500px http://bit.ly/1QazZ9f

Lake Powell Aerial by TonySpencer
An aerial view over Lake Powell on the Arizona/Utah border from earlier this year. The many canyons and incredible shoreline of this lake make for amazing photographs, especially with nice light too. Still so much to do on this lake which boasts a shoreline longer than the entire West Coast of the mainland U.S! via 500px http://bit.ly/1QfGnwG

Dead Horse Point SP, Utah Happy Cinco de Mayo! This is from my trip to the southwest last month. It's probably my favorite image from the past several months. Everything just seemed to line up perfectly, both literally and figuratively. Getting geared up to head out to the PNW on Thursday for my annual Olympic National Park Workshop. Looking forward to getting my feet wet in the Pacific again. As always thanks for taking a peek and hope everyone is getting out to enjoy some spring weather. via 500px http://bit.ly/1RBRW37

Virgin River Portrait by BrandtM
The last "keeper" shot from a recent trip to Zion National Park. Just a bit earlier in the evening I was fortunate to capture some good clouds that worked well from a landscape perspective. Those were then replaced by this set of clouds that worked perfectly for going vertical into a portrait orientation. It was nice to have cooperative clouds to pull both perspectives in one evening. Just getting any clouds at all is the usual course of things ;) Thank you for looking. Moonstar by YegorMalinovskii
I never thought of photographing Antelope Canyon at night. It was suggested to me the very last minute before my trip to the Southwest and I could not have been happier that I decided to shoot this staple with a night sky, light painted walls, and in almost freezing weather. Full moon washed out most of the stars in the sky and in this shot was somewhat obstructed by the rock so thus the "moonstar". We had the canyon all to ourselves - which during the day would seem to be crazy impossible considering thousands of people shooting there shoulder to shoulder. This is a reprocess of the file from 2013 - there is definitely a lot more things I have learned since then, thanks to magic of Alex Noriega (http://bit.ly/1BoMF87) who's Skype lessons were incredibly impactful on how I approach my post work. via 500px http://bit.ly/1xbDiTP

A long way by AbdullaAlmajed
In a gigantic places like this location, you can illustrate its size and dimensions to the viewer by adding a known size element. Such as the (human) element as it's shown on my picture. via 500px http://bit.ly/1wpTypq

Spark by csillerud
Another photograph from this summer and the most intense storm I have witnessed. In my original post, Once Upon A Storm, I wanted to convey the totality of the experience and the grand scale that exists in the Southwest. Here I hope to describe a more intimate view of the shear power that existed in each detail. http://bit.ly/1CEHMW9 via 500px http://bit.ly/1yvnQWE
