The sun broke through the clouds for the last time before the night, offering us a show of elusive beauty. The waves crashing accompanies this moment that plunges us into a state of calm and peace. September 2015 - Biscarrosse Plage / Landes / Aquitaine / France. via 500px http://bit.ly/1i71ohv

For Jeff by frank_delargy
FOR JEFF In memory of Jeff Swanson. I never met him or conversed with him. Never actually knew of him but what others here are doing makes a lot of sense to me. Raising awareness of artists and of good causes will always matter. You can view Jeff's images at jeffitandbethere.com - the profit from any print sales goes toward the Melanoma Research Foundation. They also accept straight donations. ....... Beach house - redo. 2 sec exposure.. just enough to catch the trails of the surf as it leaves the beach. An almost full moon and a solitary light by the beach house provided the illumination. As turtle nesting season in Florida has just started, all (or most) of the street lights along the coast roads are turned off or should be dimmed or sheltered from the beach. This one may have belonged to the private residence. f/2.8 ISO 1600, 16mm . Sony a7r with Canon 16-35mm lens. It's a night image so it really looks best in black (click on image or press H) . Thanks! Frank via 500px http://bit.ly/1JtR9ej

Stepping Sand by BaberAfzal
Stepping Sand Please follow me on FACEBOOK for the latest! Here is another perspective I shot on the same day when I went out shooting with Daniel. This time I came across one interesting dune which had a step on it instead of a complete smooth slope downward. The texture on it is what really attracted me to it. The reason for me to choose such a perspective is because I wanted to highlight the step that existed on this sand dune along with the curves that complement it as well. via 500px http://bit.ly/1IQZI5K

Fury Road by FritsHabermann
The Dune 7 climb resulted in a nice vista to the west towards the sea as we composed numerous S-curves of the various dunes. But looking toward the north while the sun was setting resulted in this Palouse-like scene that produced some lovely velvet shadows over the dunes all the way to sunset. The bomb run down the slope was a bit easier than the way up via 500px http://bit.ly/1UtYkLw

Wayfarer by ThomasBrownPhotography
My buddy and myself recently went on a surfing / photo adventure down south to explore some interesting place’s and to surf some new surf breaks. The first day of the trip late in the afternoon we arrived at Dark Point Dunes, Just north of Hawksnest NSW. There had been quite server weather for the area 1 week prior to our arrival and it was very apparent that storms were still hanging around. We got a break in the rain right at sunset and we decided to go trekking over about 5-6 huge sand dunes to find some untouched areas to photograph. As soon as we got to a good spot to shoot, the weather seemed to be circling us and produced some very moody and interesting cloud formations. I asked my buddy to walk up over the ridge behind us to check what the weather was doing. He got to the top and yelled “ yeppp we better get going, a wall of water is headed our way” I finished getting my shots , chucked my gear into my new Vanguard Sedona 45 Camera bag and we started bolting back to the truck… We got about halfway back to the Land Cruiser and it caught up to us, even running at full pelt we couldn’t get away from this cloud front. Running through soft and very steep sand hills with a lot of heavy Medium Format gear and one very sturdy tripod sure gave me a workout. My lungs and airway burnt from the massive sprint back, and it completely exhausted me. We made it back and my gear was dry and untouched thanks to the quality Sedona 45 bag. This was the last shot I got before we had to run. Dark Point Sand Dunes, NSW Australia Focus stacked for Depth of Field. Pentax 645Z + DA25mm thomasbrownimages.com via 500px http://bit.ly/1QMbezF

Yiti by Sakhr
Fiery clouds photographed over dramatic Yiti beach at sunset. Those lines on the sands caused by the ocean's tides help me to photograph a lovely reflection of this golden light. It was quite a show at a beautiful winter! Yiti is a quite village in Muscat, in northeastern Oman. I've visited it twice while I was in the capital (Muscat) last january. I belived it worth to visit this beautiful beach. Please take a look to my new facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/sakhrphoto I'll be happy if you like it :) via 500px http://500px.com/photo/105493373

Contemplation by lolloriva
For this unconventional selfie I've been inspired by one of the greatest photographer based in Iceland. When I saw his selfie style picture of this gorgeous location the first time it just left me without words. So, once there, I also wanted to shoot my own version of this kind of selfie … I hope you like it. via 500px http://bit.ly/1DVvcUy
