Pyroclastic Fragmentation by bruceomori

An immense lava bubble explodes violently, casting expanding sheets of lava more than 100 feet across... spreading and instantly cooling... solidifying into paper-thin pyroclasts that fracture in midair, creating a cloud of glitter in the sky. This image is very similar to one I submitted awhile ago, although this is the next sequential frame in the burst... 1/10th of a second later, and it better shows the formation of sheets of glass before they shatter into glitter-like fragments. via 500px http://bit.ly/1GDUNEb
