Paranoid thrillers are constant in cinema’s history, but at any given moment they reflect our specific anxieties back to us and reveal how we feel about our institutions. Here, I explore how paranoid thrillers crystalized as a genre in American cinema and examine the possibility of a contemporary renaissance in conspiracy fiction. Strangers is a short film by Vallée Duhamel that tells the surreal stories of characters moving around in the same space in a complex choreography of interlaced paths. The tight human pattern they weave often comes really close to overlapping, yet they remain invisible to one another. An hommage to Oscar-winning 1982 film “Tango” by Zbigniew Rybszynski. From time to time creatives reach that hard wall where they feel that inspiration has abandoned them forever. After some research and puffy eyes in the mirror we think we figured out: how to get inspired! But not really, I guess it depends on a lot of things, mostly your ability to cope with fear… A film by BLND Music & SFX by Jimmy Flamante The following scenes were designed by these awesome people (contact info in the credits): 00:00-00:24 - Jimmy Flamante 00:26-00:33 & 01:33-01:39 - Aron Vellekoop 00:33-00:43 & 00:57-01:02 - Ale Alonso

My responsibilities on this project were creative direction and 3d Lead. Once Upon a Dead Man is made up of the three Simpson brothers, Edd, Will and Charlie alongside long-time friend Simon Britcliffe who approached Mill+ with the open brief of creating a music video for their new track ‘Threads’ from their debut EP ‘Concepts and Phenomena.’ Directed by Raj Davsi, Grant Berry and Will Denning, the team produced the six-minute promo video in just over three weeks. This is for the Patreonage: You lovely folks who chose the early access option. Sorry this isn’t really super-early access. Future stuff probably will be earlier but because Brainfeeder were helping me push this as a big release they didn’t want it to affect the impact of the main release time (which is oddly specific, don’t you think?). Anyway this is Cream. Please enjoy it. I won’t bother describing it. It is quite self explanatory really. A bit different from my usual method of storytelling. Those who pledged $50+ will see their names in the credits (I think I got all of you as of 27th May) - anyone who pledged after that will get their name in the next one. Please let me know if I missed you. I really hope I didn’t but I’m pretty sloppy and disorganized.
