Orbital drone movements are the ones with power to convert two dimensional images into dancing focal layers escaping out of the frame. We wanted to further explore the technique, with high altitude long orbits, along with ones very close to the ground, we call them “Orbital drone-lapses”. These shots are a mix of automatic and manual flights. Low Earth Orbit is a zone between earth’s surface and 2,000km, where we find most of our satellite system orbiting around our planet, together with the international space station. A romantic attempt to step aside for a while gravity and atmospheric forces, bringing these orbits closer to the ground.

This Is a Generic Millennial Ad, created with And/Or studio, shows how easy it is to appeal to anyone born between 1980 and 2000. The good news? Thanks to social media, it’s easy to connect with this influential audience. The bad news? They hate spending money on things. (Except for maybe avocados.) The story of thousands of pigeons and the man who made them stars. – FLY BY NIGHT follows artist Duke Riley as he embarks on his biggest project to date – training thousands of pigeons outfitted with tiny LEDs to twirl, swoop, and glide over the East River at dusk from a decommissioned naval vessel in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Commissioned by the public arts nonprofit Creative Time, the visually mesmerizing project received acclaim from the art world and the thousands of New Yorkers who witnessed the performances during the spring of 2016. The Village Voice awarded Riley a lifetime achievement award for “elevating the prestige of pigeons in the public consciousness.” This piece follows Riley’s process from conception to final performance, and ultimately like the project itself, examines urban humanity’s relationship to the natural world. – DIRECTOR Olivia Loomis Merrion, Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo Video Fellow DIRECTORS OF CINEMATOGRAPHY Olivia Loomis Merrion John Picklap ORIGINAL MUSIC Aled Roberts FEATURING “KEEP SHINING” BY T.L. NOWNESS presents Doku-Tur, a film by ANDRÉ DIP and JOSÉ MENEZES. Directed by André Dip & José Menezes (vimeo.com/josetm) Original Soundtrack: Apeles Colorist: Henrique Reganatti @ Zumbi Post SYNOPSIS: Second video in the Tur series, “Doku-Tur” was shot in the Balkans (particularly in Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania), a region that has suffered from ethnical and geopolitical conflicts, during the month of August, 2015, at the height of the “immigration crisis”. In the occasion, the directors were invited to show the short-film"Boatman" (dir. José Menezes and Lucas Justiniano, dop. André Dip) at Dokufest Kosovo, in the city of Prizren. Our aim was to show a different side of a region usually misinterpreted in the media and public eye due to it’s historical and recent conflicts. The original sountrack was composed specially for the video by Apeles (Eduardo Praça). ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK: Apeles, a.k.a. Eduardo Praça, is a Berlin based Brazilian composer and musician. While touring and performing with international act Quarto Negro, have been scoring short films and features screened in various acclaimed film festivals around the world. On August 21st, 2017, the United States will host its first total solar eclipse in nearly 40 years. While a partial eclipse will be visible from the continental US, only a thin strip across fourteen states will experience what is regarded as the most astounding celestial event one can witness: a total solar eclipse. This film is about why you should do everything you can to go see it. “Seeing a partial eclipse bears the same relation to seeing a total eclipse as kissing a man does to marrying him, or as flying in an airplane does to falling out of an airplane.” – Annie Dillard Driving times to the path of the total eclipse: http://bit.ly/2fFFPca Watch our first project, To Scale: The Solar System: http://bit.ly/2hZaim8 Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. In April this year, director Julian Lucas went on holiday to Japan - his camera came with him. The result is the film Bloom. He discovered a peculiar sense of quiet, desolation, and loneliness among the people. In a country so packed with lights and trains and crowds and experiences, from the theatrical to the serene to patently bizarre, Bloom captures this lovely dichotomy between the people and the cities they inhabit. Inside the noise and the chaos, Julian captures people alone, wandering the streets, buried in telephones - a dull, menacing and peaceful nothingness below the surface. What’s most inspiring about the footage is the way that it doesn’t struggle or form its way into any kind of narrative - Julian just lets the film be exactly what it is. But in that loose process, which is unlikely an accident, there’s this dizzying repetition that tells us something quite profound about Japanese culture. The score, too, by Matt Hadley, dances with the vision. At times intense and jarring, edited cleverly to interplay with the captured audio. At times serene and beautiful, with layered synths and string lines that dance softly up and down the keyboard. “I wanted the soundtrack to be it’s own character,” says Julian. “I wanted the viewer to be as audibly stimulated as they are visually. And I wanted sounds from the real world to contribute to the rhythm and pacing of the piece.”

On August 25th, Hugh will release his latest project, the 5-track Coast EP. Coast is composed of various field recordings Hugh sampled while on an excursion to the Cook Islands in the Pacific. It represents the sound of the natural world dissected, recombined and refracted through a new lens with studio instruments. The natural sounds of the Cook Islands - animals calling to their mates, rivers whispering through the night, leaves rustling in the wind - fuse with musical samples and instrumental performance to form delicate and playful sonic meditations of Hugh’s imaginations. http://bit.ly/2ulXR5H

Adventures In Transition – Stick To Your Guns It’s sort of like a dream right? Live in the place you grew up with a handful of your best friends and ski every single day. It’s tough to convince yourself that this is real life, or even a possibility. This life was never planned – and it was certainly unexpected to end up back where it all started, but not a surprise. With another year in the bag exploring areas from the past and re-discovering new places to roam in the backcountry, there’s no doubt in my mind I’m right where I want to be. I’m proud of where I am from and proud to share the dream with so many close close friends. Thank you Khai and LJ for coming to my make-believe world and making AIT a reality. Thanks to Bobby Brown who made the entire Montana trip come to life, you are a true friend and I am grateful for the support you’ve given.
